The Art Series Hotel group has established itself as part of the Brisbane inner city landscape with the development of the seventh building in the series, The Johnson. Our Electrical Construction team was contracted by Maxcon to deliver the full electrical design and installation for the transformation of the heritage listed site into a state of the art hotel and residential facility.

With 83 hotel suites, 2 penthouses, close to 200 live in apartments, 27 office tenancies and 3 levels of parking, the team worked tirelessly to ensure the project was completed on time and on budget.

Some key features of the job included:

• Use of 800amp bus-ducting
• Two Main Switchboards each rated at 2000amps
• CBUS lighting control
• Complete MATV communications package including full fibre cabling to each individual apartment and hotel room.

The electrical specifications of the project also included servicing each area under individual electrical metering for hotel revenue requirement purposes. All challenges were successfully navigated through careful planning and strategic labour management which was critical in the success of the overall delivery.  This project was a great opportunity to develop strong relationships with principal contractors Maxcon and property developers Asian Pacific Group on what will become an iconic building for Brisbane.
