The Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), is a state of the art medical facility servicing the Gold Coast and broader community. As one of the largest clinical and research facilities in Queensland, the hospital covers approximately 170,000 square metres, provides 750 beds and attends to more than 100,000 patients every year.

The Asset Services team has developed a strong relationship with Queensland Health over the past 12 months, resulting in our Building team being awarded the contract to deliver the brand-new Coordination Hub. Situated centrally within the precinct, the Hub is where the extensive patient flow planning happens, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery across the entire hospital network, including both GCUH and Robina Hospitals.

Our team undertook extensive consultation with the architect and key stakeholders to ensure that the functionality of the Hub was effective for the number of people that would be moving through it any one time. This project was delivered over a six-week period and involved the removal of old offices and full refurbishment of the multipurpose space. With two central zones, the build included a number of permanent staff spaces as well as hot desks for interaction with the large media wall. Attached is a separate meeting room for daily bed management meetings involving Queensland Health professionals from across the district.
