Darkness to Daylight: Stepping out for a cause

Tiff and Gemma from CV’s People & Culture team were proud to take part in the recent Darkness to Daylight event at Parliament House – raising awareness and funds to help end domestic and family violence.

It was a brisk 16 degrees at 5:30am, but the energy was high as the event kicked off with stretches led by an F45 coach. The route took participants through QUT Gardens Point, across the Goodwill Bridge and back through the Botanical Gardens – just as the sky began to lighten with the new day.

Bringing a Fresh New Look to Ampol at Port of Brisbane

The CV Building team, working closely with our HVAC crew, recently refurbished the Ampol Service Station at the Port of Brisbane.

This multi-trade project was delivered efficiently over just three consecutive days by three separate crews – a great outcome with minimal disruption and cost for the client.

The scope included removing the original metal ceiling cladding and replacing it with a new T-bar system and ceiling tiles. We also installed a new air conditioning unit, giving the station a fresh, modern look and improved comfort.

Fantastic work from everyone involved – great collaboration and an excellent result!

National Reconciliation Week at CV

Last week, our team gathered at our Hendra Head Office to mark a milestone in CV’s reconciliation journey – celebrating National Reconciliation Week with a special team lunch to launch our very first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

It was a meaningful moment to reflect on our commitment to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with Group CEO and Executive RAP Champion Andrew McMaster sharing the significance of the RAP and why reconciliation matters – not only for our business, but for each of us as individuals.

By launching our Reflect RAP, we’ve taken a formal step in turning good intentions into meaningful action – creating space for listening, learning and building respectful relationships across our teams and the communities we work within.

This is just the beginning. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken and look forward to continuing this important journey together.

Celebrating Queensland Rugby League

We’re proud to have contributed to the new State of Origin Walk of Fame at Suncorp Stadium – a tribute to Queensland’s greatest.

This project was a seamless collaboration between CV’s Building, Electrical and Signage teams – managing everything from groundwork to final install.

Over 40m³ of concrete was poured, trades were carefully coordinated in a live public space, and every sign was manufactured in-house at our Hendra facility and expertly installed by our team – with works completed safely, on time and without disruption to stadium operations.

Thanks to structured planning and clear communication, we achieved a smooth, successful delivery. A huge thanks to everyone involved – it’s an honour to help bring Queensland’s sporting legacy to life.

Stay tuned – we can’t wait to reveal the finished Walk of Fame. If you’re heading to the first Origin game tonight, make sure to check it out and be among the first to see it in person!

Brisbane Airport Chiller Upgrade

Another successful project delivered by the CV HVAC team!

At a building in the Brisbane Airport precinct, we replaced an old chiller system with a new Daikin 530kW scroll chiller and upgraded two chilled water pump sets – all within a single weekend.

The project required a 150-tonne crane to manage the heavy rooftop lift – no small feat! By Sunday afternoon, the team had the new system installed, commissioned and running, ready for the building’s return to full operations on Monday.

Another challenging task, successfully delivered on a tight timeline thanks to the outstanding planning, coordination and teamwork of the CV HVAC and Daikin Applied Services teams!

WaterAid Trivia Night

A great night for a great cause! The CV Industrial team had a fantastic evening at the WaterAid Australia Trivia Night last Friday, joining forces with our peers in the industry to support clean water access for communities in need.

We’re proud to support WaterAid’s critical mission and were thrilled to be part of such a fun and meaningful event. A huge thank you to the organisers and everyone who participated – the energy, camaraderie and passion in the room was inspiring!

A special moment from the evening was our very own Mushfiq Rahman taking the stage to share insights into CV Industrial’s capabilities in the water sector. From treatment plant upgrades to complex infrastructure delivery, we’re proud to play a role in creating sustainable water solutions across Australia.

Thanks again to everyone involved – we had a blast and look forward to next year’s trivia night!

Celebrating Success at Aura

Our team at Aura on the Sunshine Coast recently came together for a site BBQ to mark a fantastic milestone. Cameron Pollock, CV Site Manager on the project, was recognised for an incredible 10 years with CV.

Cameron has been a key part of our success at Aura, and the BBQ was a great opportunity to not only celebrate his contribution but also acknowledge several team members who received merit awards for their outstanding work on the project.

We’re proud to be working alongside Stockland and to recognise the people who are helping deliver such a successful project.

Tantivy Pump Station

We’re excited to share the successful commissioning of the Tantivy Pump Station – a critical infrastructure upgrade for one of Brisbane’s major utility providers, delivered in partnership with Downer.

This achievement also marks another successful collaboration with PT Automation Solutions, finalised just as Tropical Cyclone Alfred approached – highlighting the pump station’s vital role in maintaining operations under challenging conditions.

A huge congratulations to the CV Industrial team, whose dedication and hard work made this possible. The team overcame a number of complex challenges to reach this milestone – a clear reflection of their capability and commitment to excellence throughout the project.

This success wouldn’t have been possible without the collaborative efforts of all involved and we’re incredibly grateful to the PTAS team for their expertise and strong partnership.

We look forward to seeing the continued impact of this important project!
