Team Brief 2024

This year, CV’s annual Team Briefs were extra special as we celebrated 20 incredible years in business! Our Directors and General Managers shared key business updates, reflected on our journey and laid out exciting plans for the future.

We also took the time to recognise our amazing team members through our annual awards.

Team Briefs were held across all our key locations – Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Melbourne and Sydney – bringing each team together and strengthening the connections that make CV thrive.

A huge thank you to all our team members for your dedication and contributions over the years. Here’s to many more successful years ahead!

Celebrating 20 Years

We are thrilled to share with you CV’s recent 20th anniversary celebration!

Since 2004, we’ve grown from a small signage business into a diversified group with four core businesses. What started with a small team of 14 has now expanded into a diverse team of over 900, with offices across the east coast of Australia.

As part of this celebration, we have created a 20 year anniversary video featuring our co-founders, Andrew McMaster and Ed Phelan, and introducing our Managing Director, Mushfiq Rahman. The video highlights key milestones, introduces you to some of our longest-standing team members and gives a sneak peek into our vision for the future.

This incredible journey wouldn’t have been possible without the trust and support of our amazing clients. Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to the next 20 years!

R U OK? Day & Fly the Flag Day 2024

Today, CV is proud to recognise both R U OK? Day and Fly the Flag Day!

Our team is flying the flag on-site at Caloundra, demonstrating our strong support for Mates in Construction and our commitment to mental health in the workplace. At our Hendra head office, we came together for a BBQ lunch to mark R U OK? Day, reinforcing the important message that it’s always the right time to check in with those around us.

While today shines a spotlight on mental health, it’s just as important to look out for your friends, family and colleagues every other day of the year. We’re proud to have two ASIST-trained team members, numerous Connectors and many other team members who have completed MIC General Awareness Training. With this collective knowledge and experience, our team is well-equipped to recognise when someone might be struggling and offer the support they need – often starting with the simple but powerful question: “R U OK?”

Live Like Her Challenge

Two of CV’s leaders, Mushfiq Rahman and Quinton McNicol, recently took part in the 2024 Live Like Her Challenge, spending a night sleeping in their cars at Brisbane Airport to raise awareness for The Forgotten Women – an organisation dedicated to providing secure, safe and affordable housing options for homeless women over 55. This experience gave them a glimpse into what thousands of women endure every night without a safe place to call home.

While the challenge lasted just one night, there are many women who face this reality every day. If you’d like to help, there’s still time to make a difference. Support the cause here: https://livelikeherchallenge.com.au/page/CVServices

We are grateful for the opportunity to support such an incredible cause and contribute to the wellbeing of families in need. Thank you to everyone in our team who participated and made this possible!

Vinnies CEO Sleepout

Last week, CV’s Managing Director Mushfiq Rahman took part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout joining hundreds of business and community leaders to raise crucial funds for Australians facing homelessness and those at risk.

This marked Mushfiq’s third time participating in this impactful initiative. While no stranger to the Vinnies CEO Sleepout experience, spending a cold night outdoors always serves as a stark reminder of the nightly reality for many Australians.

Mushfiq is proudly part of the GOATS team, who together exceeded their target of $500,000 this year, setting a new Australian record for the highest fundraising team for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout. Congratulations to the entire GOATS team for the lifechanging difference this will make for those in need!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and helped Mushfiq reach his own fundraising goal. Your generosity will make a significant impact by funding 21 support programs, 56 beds and 226 meals for those in need.

There’s still time to donate if you’d like to support Mushfiq and the CEO Sleepout initiative: https://www.ceosleepout.org.au/fundraisers/mushfiqrahman
