NFIA Christmas Lunch and Industry Awards

Last Friday, members of CV’s fire services team attended the National Fire Industry Association of Australia (NFIA) Christmas Lunch and Industry Awards at Customs House.

A special shout-out to Cayleigh Durbin, who was nominated for the Fire Protect Control Apprentice of the Year award. It’s great to see one of our apprentices recognised for their hard work and commitment to the industry.

Our fire team plays a vital role in supporting our clients – ensuring their fire systems are compliant, reliable and designed to keep facilities protected. They install and maintain detection, suppression, and wet and dry fire systems, and carry out testing and compliance work to keep these systems performing effectively.

Well done to the team for representing CV and the great work they do in the fire industry!

Redland City Council Cleveland Library Chiller Replacement

A busy public library and council office can’t exactly press pause for major mechanical upgrades – so our team made sure they didn’t have to.

We recently completed a chiller replacement project at Cleveland Library and Redland City Council offices, removing and replacing two chiller systems, four pumps, a new Mechanical Services Switchboard (MSSB) and the building’s management system.

As part of CV’s integrated asset maintenance capability, the team carefully planned every step to keep the site fully operational. A temporary chiller was set up in the ground-level car park, allowing us to carry out the full change-over while maintaining uninterrupted air conditioning for visitors and staff.

Well done to the team – their planning, coordination and problem-solving were key to adapting the works to suit a busy community facility.

Christmas Charity 2025 – Challenge DV

One of the highlights of our year is coming together to choose our Christmas charity – and we’re excited to share that our team has selected Challenge DV for 2025!

Challenge DV is doing incredible work to prevent domestic and family violence through education, advocacy and strong community partnerships. Their purpose aligns closely with our values and we’re proud to support the impact they are having in communities across Australia.

If you’d like to learn more about their work, visit: https://www.challengedv.org/

We hope our donation provides meaningful support to those who need it most this festive season.

Charters Towers Hospital Major Electrical Upgrade

Our team is delivering major electrical upgrade works at Charters Towers Hospital as part of a project that will introduce a new CT building, complete with a CT machine and X-ray machine to service surrounding communities.

Given the hospital’s age and heritage, the project involves a range of major electrical upgrades, including new power infrastructure, a modern generator system and load management, and the careful changeover from the existing setup to the new main switchboard with little to no downtime.

Because the hospital has never been without electricity, careful planning and close coordination with Ergon and Queensland Health has been vital to progressing the works safely and without interruption.

Well done to everyone involved – CV is proud to be working alongside Hutchinson Builders to deliver a complex and important project.

TSBE Partnership

We’re excited to share that CV has joined Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE)!

Being part of TSBE connects us with a strong network of businesses, industry leaders and opportunities across the Toowoomba and Surat Basin region. It’s a chance to collaborate, share knowledge and strengthen how we support our clients and communities.

We’re looking forward to working with the TSBE community and building meaningful partnerships that create value and growth for the region.

Library+ Caloundra

We’re excited to share the completion of our works on the new Library+ in Caloundra – delivered in partnership with Hutchinson Builders and Sunshine Coast Council.

CV completed the full electrical package for this landmark community facility, including a certified communications system, security system, UPSs and more. Spread across three levels, Library+ brings together modern library services, interactive spaces, meeting rooms and Council offices – designed to connect people, ideas and community in the heart of Caloundra.

It’s a project the Council are thrilled with – and one we’re equally proud to have delivered to such a high standard.

Winner – Corporate Accountant of the Year

We’re thrilled to celebrate Kelsey Robertson, winner of the Corporate Accountant of the Year – Construction, Infrastructure and Real Estate award at the Corporate Accountant Awards 2025!

Kelsey plays a key role in strengthening CV’s financial systems, supporting our growth and ensuring our teams have the insights they need to deliver great outcomes. His commitment to accuracy, collaboration and continuous improvement is widely recognised across the business – and this award is a well-deserved acknowledgement of his expertise.

Congratulations, Kelsey – we’re proud to have you on the team!

Join us at the All Energy Expo!

CV and Synchrotech deliver certified, end-to-end electrical infrastructure for Australia’s clean energy future – from design and engineering through to trenching, cabling, testing, commissioning and energisation.

Come and chat to the team about how we’re supporting the nation’s energy transition with safe, scalable and high-quality delivery across solar, wind and utility-scale projects.

NAWIC Trivia Night

CV was proud to sponsor the NAWIC Trivia Night for the third consecutive year, bringing together industry peers for a fun evening in support of a meaningful cause.

The event raised funds for TIACS, which provides free mental health support for tradies and their families – an initiative we’re proud to get behind.

We’re excited to share that our team “No you quizzn’t” took out first place – congratulations to the team on securing the win against some tough competition!

Thank you to NAWIC for hosting another fantastic event and to everyone who took part to support this great cause.
