Port of Brisbane is one of Australia’s fastest growing container ports, and Queensland’s largest multi-cargo port. The port handles approximately $50 billion worth of cargo each year – equivalent to approximately 37 million tonnes. The Asset Services Plumbing team secured the plumbing maintenance contract in 2011 and have been delivering ongoing proactive and reactive maintenance plus minor project works for the past six years. Building on the work from the Plumbing team, Asset Services has gone on to secure the electrical maintenance contract in 2015 and the Pumping works in 2017.
The team has worked closely with Port of Brisbane to ensure the ongoing proactive and reactive maintenance of assets across the facility. Working in line with the safety and service guidelines, the team maintains maintenance schedules to allow the port to operate safely and guarantee maximum life from its assets. The team have put into place highly responsive service plans to minimise wait times and maximise efficiencies.
The team has delivered a number of projects to ensure greater efficiencies across the port. This has included a complete refurbishment of two wastewater pump stations including new pumps, pipework, control panels and replaced float switches. The stations are now running at optimum capacity.
