Airservices Australia (Airservices) is a Government-owned organisation responsible for the provision of air traffic management, air navigation support (communications infrastructure, radar and navigation aids) and aviation rescue fire fighting (ARFF) services to the aviation industry. The Air Traffic Service Centre (ATSC) in Brisbane was constructed in 1995 and houses the operations rooms, training facilities and supporting amenities for air traffic controllers who manage air traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year. CV is working with Badge Constructions to deliver the electrical infrastructure for the ATSC extension project, which will enable the implementation of the new air traffic system and allow for additional air traffic control positions.
The ATSC project is split between two buildings; BSC is a single floor and CMATS is a dual story air traffic control centre. The CV team is delivering a new central energy plant which will provide electrical power supply and distribution systems to both buildings. Electrical power is being transformed from 11kV to 400V.
In addition, CV is delivering general lighting, emergency and exit lighting, general power, communication, security systems throughout the new BSC building and extended areas in the ATSC building, as well as exterior lighting for the new car park.
