National Safe Work Month 2026

November 5, 2026

That’s a wrap on National Safe Work Month at CV! Throughout October, we took the opportunity to reinforce something that matters every day at CV: being Brilliant at the Basics.

Following some very positive feedback about safety in our recent annual team survey, National Safe Work Month was an opportunity to build on that strong foundation and continue the conversations and behaviours that help keep each other safe.

Across the month, we focused on five simple but important areas:

  • Pre-starts – having the right people, understanding the right risks and putting the right controls in place
  • Leaders close to the work – getting out into the field, asking questions and understanding how work really happens
  • Reporting – sharing hazards, near misses and insights so we can learn and improve
  • Critical controls – understanding our biggest risks and checking the controls that prevent serious harm
  • Closing the loop – making sure that when our people speak up, they know what happens next

We brought these themes to life through weekly videos and safety updates, conversations in the field and plenty of opportunities for our teams to share their own experiences and ideas. We also ran our National Safe Work Month competition, recognising team members who got involved and shared practical safety insights.

At our Hendra head office, we came together for a National Safe Work Month team lunch. Our Safety team cooked a BBQ and put our safety knowledge to the test with an interactive Kahoot quiz covering our Brilliant at the Basics principles and bringing out some healthy competition.

A big thank you to everyone across CV who got involved, shared an insight, asked a question or took the time to have an important conversation.

National Safe Work Month might be over, but our commitment to learning, improving and keeping each other safe continues every day.
